Although steps had been taken by Mobicam not all wireless internet signals can be blocked so depending upon your setup and needs this must be taken into consideration.

By Nerissa H. Watkins… This monitor is the best video baby monitor out there if you have more than one child you want to keep an eye on. It can automatically switch between up to 3 cameras every 5 seconds or so, the batteries are rechargeable, it has great battery life (I switch to audio only at times to save battery – but it lasts me all day), there is no static, the picture is as good if not better than others (I can see if my baby’s eyes are open or closed), it’s small but has a large screen given it’s size, and the range is good (works two floors down). The cons: 1. The volume level drops (not completely off but very, very low) whenever it is turned off, so you have to remember to turn the volume up every time you turn it on. 2. I’ve had trouble getting the screen to pop out for tilting (I just placed a piece of thick tape behind it to put a little pressure and help it pop out). 3. It interferes with the wireless unless you change your channel (I changed mine to 11 per H. Gaskill’s recommendation…thanks!) 4. Finally, occasionally my monitor turns off for a second when changing from audio only to video or vice versa…which wouldn’t matter except that the volume drops when this happens and sometimes I don’t realize it and can’t hear my baby very well when he cries. Yet with all these cons, it is by far the best out there…and I’ve personally tried 6 before it and researched dozens.

By S. L. Daniels… I gave this 5 stars because it does exactly what I wanted it to do. It allows me to see and hear what my daughter is doing in her room when she is “napping” and at night. We bought this because she started climbing out of her crib so we switched her to a toddler bed. Now we can see if she is sleeping or playing or getting into trouble. When she calls for us, we can see if she really needs our help or not. We have the camera about 10 feet from her bed and can see her easily. I never even looked at the instruction booklet because it works as soon as you plug it in and is very easy to use. There has never been any interference, it always works! The screen is large enough (I thought I needed a 6 inch screen originally) and the battery lasts a long time. The picture is not high def. or anything but it is sufficient to see what is what and what she’s doing. The audio sounds a little “tinny” but it’s fine. I think I read every product review for video monitors before I chose this one and it did not disappoint. From what I read, none of them are perfect. Very good value!!

  • Digital Secure Wireless Transmission

  • Soothe Baby with Lullabies
  • 150ft range
  • Built-in Night Light
  • Value For Money Price

A new product from Levana at an affordable price and feature rich. The Levana BabyView20 Digital Wireless Video Monitor puts Levan on the Baby Monitor map with a few features overlooked by other brands making this a very promising unit.

The BabyView20 uses a 100% digital signal and which is secure and private and claims no interference from cordless phones, WiFi signals, bluetooth or any other wireless devices used in your home. Clear signal technology allows you to view baby from up to 150ft away.

Highly portable and rechargeable, gives you 4.5 hours of constant use and provides the option to plug it in indefinitely or just to recharge from a wall outlet. A low battery indicator lets you know when the battery is getting low. Parent unit comes with a 2.3” LCD video screen and standby mode to shut off when there is no activity to transmit and instantly turn on and alert you when your child begins to fuss or cry.

The camera unit has many features, night vision for viewing in the dark, allows you to see up to 15ft away. A soft and subtle baby nightlight on the camera unit, and the ability to remotely play a lullaby to lull baby back to sleep without having to get up.

Night vision feature is automatic and uses infrared LEDs to output light invisible to the human eye but can be seen on the monitor. Night vision also automatically turns off during daylight to conserve energy. The camera unit also comes with a crib mount and is able to be run off batteries or AC power.

Some products are difficult to review as they get an equal number of good and back comments from customers. Such is the case with the Levana Baby Video Monitor. A quick review of Customer comments shows that 75% of the review for this unit are 4 and 5 star. There are however a number of negative reviews which claim that the sound cuts in and out and the unit is not sensitive to baby noise; and some reviewers do claim their Wi-Fi internet is still effected but seemingly only certain setups have this problem. This complaint is common across multiple units reviewed on these pages.

See what some other users have to say.

By Jarucia Jaycox Nirula… We researched the heck of video monitors before selecting this one. Our #1 concern was compatibility with our home wi-fi network. This system works beautifully in general. I like the video quality and the sound quality is good so long as baby is loud enough (even hear his toots when they’re loud enough :) …) Others complained about the red ‘on’ light on the front of the transmitter ‘eye’. I taped a piece of white paper over it to soften it. It doesn’t serve any real function so I felt fine doing that. The clamp base for the transmitter works well on the co-sleeper, but the portion that allows for angling the ‘eye’ is a little sensitive to being bumped out of position.

Back to the wi-fi. When the receiver is next to my computer and I’m accessing our network (other computers or storage devices) the thing acts up by showing ‘out of range’. This doesn’t happen with simple internet use and happens at no other place in the house. It does seem to happen more when the receiver isn’t plugged in, but for sure it’s not playing nice with the signal from my computer to our storage device. Overall, I’m pleased with the product and wouldn’t hesitate recommending it.

By SweetAugust… I bought this monitor almost a month ago, and it has changed my life. I researched video monitors for weeks looking for one that was safe and reliable with great picture quality and no feedback, and I hit the jackpot with the Levana BabyView20. I researched it on the web and found that I could watch a demo of the video quality here: [..]. When the monitor arrived, it was very easy to mount to the side of my son’s pack n’ play, and the video quality is clear enough that I can see my son’s chest rise and fall as he’s sleeping. As the mother of a child with unique medical needs, this was an extremely important feature. With the night vision, I can feel confident that he is breathing well without having to go into his room and possibly interrupt his sleep.

I also love that I can turn music on remotely to calm him when he gets fussy, and the battery on the handheld monitor lasts for longer than his nap, which is anywhere from two to three hours. I also love that the audio only turns on when he makes noise or moves significantly, which is fantastic and really eliminates feedback. The buzzing is so minimal that I can sleep with it only a foot away and not hear it at all. Before getting this monitor, I went in my son’s room anytime he made a noise because I wanted to be sure he was okay. This was completely detrimental to training him to sleep through the night, and we spent two years getting up a dozen times a night to check on him. Now we know exactly how he’s doing in his room, and he’s been sleeping through the night for nearly as long as we’ve had the monitor. Being able to see him and know that he’s okay when he’s crying has completely changed my life.

  • Wireless 7in LCD Screen
  • Handheld  1.8”color unit
  • 900 MHz for superior clarity
  • 350ft range
  • LED Sound MonitorDisplay

Another great product from Summer Infant. This set is meant to live up to its name by providing complete coverage for all your baby monitoring needs.

The set includes a 7” LCD color flat screen and a 1.8” color hand-held parent’s unit. With a 350′ range and 900MHz technology this unit transmits a clear and secure signal every time.

The hand-held unit comes with a flip stand, a belt clip and a 10 hour rechargeable battery making it very portable and allowing you the freedom to roam. Both parent’s units have an auto-time out feature to save battery life and provide convenience, with a simple touch of a button located on top of the unit.

This baby video monitor set differs from most of the other monitors on the market and follows today’s trends utilizing LCD flat screen technology for a great picture. Having an additional hand-held monitor greatly increases the portability and convenience for parents.

The 7” LCD monitor has a built in carry handle as well as a swivel stand and tilt option. The unit can be placed on a tabletop, bedside table, or mounted under a kitchen cabinet.

The unique look of the monitor and ability to swivel and tilt for multiple angles is also a nice feature. Each parent unit also has the LED sound light feature to allow parents to visually register sound and movement even when the video monitor is in stand by mode saving battery power. There is also the option for two channels which aid in minimizing the possibility of interference.

The one touch on/off feature is only for the video, if turned off the sound does still transmit so you can rest assured that baby is still resting comfortably.

Another great feature that many praise is the ability to connect the hand-held unit to a TV which the manufacturer does not seem to promote but is still a welcomed feature for many parents.

See what some other users have to say.

By Julie (NY)… We love love love this monitor, the handheld is great and having a seperate flat screen is perfect for keeping in our bedroom. My only complaints are that the picture it gives is very zoomed in, we had to mount the camera almost on the ceiling in order to get the entire crib in the frame. A wider view would have been better. And the volume control on the flat screen is out right HORRIBLE. Even the lowest setting is WAY to loud and it’s a push button control as opposed to a dial. Because of this I’m forced to have 2 monitors on, the video which I have to mute and another non-video which I use for sound. If they fixed this design flaw I’d give the product 10 stars. We wouldn’t have been able to transition our baby to her own room with out it.

By “Babies n Dogs”… We bought this early (before the babies arrive) to test it out and we are not disappointed. We are using it right now to monitor an ailing relative who needs near constant monitoring and the nature of the set up is she is in a separate home on the property. So the monitor and sound are working perfectly at a range of about 275 ft between two homes. The handheld device can also be hooked up to your tv which puts the picture large and very convenient. You have the option of having sound, picture or both which is a nice feature. I give this high marks and cannot wait to use it to monitor the babies when they arrive.

Overall, this is a great video baby monitor set and has very few negative reviews from Customers. The only customer complaints found was a report of very occasional static in the reception and and a dislike for the auto off feature on the hand-held unit. This higher priced unit is good value for a high quality product. If you need the features this unit offers, then it should be on your shortlist.

  • Excellent Picture Quality
  • 2.4GHz Transmission Frequency
  • Remote Pan, Scan, and Zoom
  • Large 2.5″ Viewing Screen
  • May Interfear with Home Wireless Network

Summer Infant has long been providing high quality products for parents. Summer makes many different types of baby monitors that come in all shapes and sizes and have many different features, functions and details. Just top be clear, this review is for the “Summer Best View DIGITAL Video Baby Monitor”…there are other similarly named products that do not perform near as well as this one, just to be clear.

One detail that makes this monitor stand out, the Summer Infant Best View Handheld Color Video Monitor has a 2.5” screen. The screen is slightly larger than the typical 1.8” and is also LCD with B&W night vision capabilities.

Convenience and portability was the aim for the design of this product and is apparent within its features. It is 100% digital and provides a secure and clear transmission with a range of 350′.

As stated above, the screen is a 2.5” color LCD and although it is larger than most of the baby monitors out there on the market today, it is still very portable and lightweight. The hand-held unit runs from rechargeable batteries and allows you to remotely pan, scan, and zoom the camera.

There are also options for nighttime allowing you to switch the monitor on and off with an easy touch of a button. Choose from night vision, sound light, or sound only. When the video monitor is turned off, the sound is still transmitted. With the video turned off, the monitor signals that it is picking up sound with the sound light LEDs allowing you plenty of options for monitoring baby.

The pan, zoom feature is made possible by a joystick on the front of the receiver. You must also access the main menu to adjust the volume and use the joystick, one of the only flaws reviewers have mentioned. Overall, this monitor covers many issues that past monitors have had with ease of use and concerns for privacy and interference making it a solid choice.

This unit transmits on a frequency of 2.4GHz – the same frequency that a 2.4Gz Wireless Network uses. Some Customers have reported that the unit does interfear with a 2.4Gz Wireless Network slowing it down considerably. When the camera is turned on, your wireless network operates at reduced speeds and laptops close to the camera may not connect to the wireless network. If you operate an extensive network based on 2.4GHz 802.11g wireless technology in your home, you may wish to consider another unit.

By Bryan G… This is our first kid and therefore our first video monitor. And it performs great. The video in night-vision or full-light is good enough for what you need it to do: show you your baby and how he/she is. You won’t get TV quality out of this for the price. But as a baby monitor it’s great. Audio quality is good, you can hear tiny noises. Again, no it won’t sound like a professional boom mic, but the quality is such that you can hear your baby clearly. That’s the point.

It has pan/zoom which work fine, but for us with a newborn, this is just a bonus. I’m not looking for Scorcese type stuff here, since the kid isn’t mobile. The volume is within a menu, not a separate button, but this really is not that big a deal. Try it, it really is not as bad as you would think.

I’ve had no issue with the pulsing red lights, and it does not cause my night vision to pulse as others have said. Maybe that’s cuz I keep the brightness adjusted down so my kid doesn’t look like Casper the ghost in night-vision. As for the green power LED on the front, well that was a mistake on somebody’s part. But it is easily fixable with electrical tape. Everything else about this product works so well, that I don’t see the point in dinging the product for something easily fixable with tape. OH, and I have had no interference with my wireless devices at all. I’m running 802.11g and I’ve had no signal loss. This is across 2 laptops, a NAS, a wireless printer, a PS3, a Wii and an XBOX 360…Everything continued to send/receive perfectly. My portable phone is 5.8 GHz, so I have no interference there either.

For the money, you can’t find a better video monitor. Go in with reasonable expectations, and I think you will find this system is pretty close to perfect.

By Big B… I did a lot of research online before making a purchase for a baby monitor with video. There are tons to chose from, and a lot of reviews that are mixed. I actually had purchased a different model first, but after taking it out of the box, returned it and bought this one instead. Why? The screen is larger, the camera rotates and zooms (only 1 zoom, not a variable zoom) but we absolutely love it!

I was concerned about other reviews that mentioned the “Lights” on the front- yes, they are there, but it didn’t bother our 2 year old at all. We had a typical baby monitor up until now, but wanted to get the video just for when he’s trying to crawl out of the crib, or if we have another baby. My only regret, is that we waited 2 years to get one! While the volume control is in the “Menu” screen, it’s a simple click process. Should there be a dial for the volume? Possibly- but it still works rather well. Plus, the mic is very sensitive, and picks up all of the noises with no problem.

Very good picture in the dark, and we are able to add cameras to it later on. This will be great for multiple rooms/play rooms, etc. The battery life is good on a full charge so far, but like any other batteries, I’m sure it will go down over time. Just make sure to let the battery drain almost all the way down before recharging, and it will help the life span.

We love it, and I would recommend this to ANY parent looking for a monitor system. Plus, it is so much fun to watch all of their expressions, tossing and turning. Here we thought he was asleep all this time, and he’s in there playing with the blankie! It’s better than watching anything on TV, that’s for sure!

  • Infrared Night Vision Mode
  • 900MHz Transmission Frequency
  • Lightweight, Compact Design
  • Small Viewing Screen
  • 600′ Transmission Range

Graco is one of the world’s best known and most trusted juvenile products companies out there. Since 1954 Graco has been producing quality products that parents love and rave about. The Graco iMonitor Color Video Baby Monitor strives to be one of those products that carries the Graco name. The manufacturers proclaim this unit to be one of the most advanced baby monitors on the market and utilizing new technology for quality, clear transmission standards and private, secure signal strength.

It transmits on a 900MHz frequency ensuring no interference from home electronics or phones and should allow the iMonitor Digital Video Baby Monitor provides a clear and uninterrupted signal. The video range on this unit is 600′ max but customer comments indicate that the working range of the unit may be less than that, but still adequate for most needs.

Wrapped in a sleek and portable design is a wearable flip design 2.0” video color screen that can be clipped on a belt or sat on a shelf. Auto infared night vision for a clear picture even in total darkness. Even real-time digital zoom feature for a detailed view. The parent unit is very portable and includes a digital clock and on-screen icons for easy menu access. The camera unit is wall-mountable or stable for a shelf allowing for left, right, up and down swivel options.

After reading through a number of customer reviews, most buyers found the unit to be acceptable and deliver what was promised but others reported poor picture quality and reliability. Some say the range is not quite 600′ and that the battery life is a little less than desired. The vibe feature and compact design will drastically reduce the length of the battery so keep that in mind and adjust the settings accordingly between charging times.

See what some other users have to say.

By Anthony… At first Blush this may appear to be an expensive investment, but I can say that for my entire family, this technology has been a life saver, a time saver, and has given us added piece of mind. My wife and I initially went the ‘cheaper’ route with an audio-only monitor. After countless sprints upstairs to our daughter’s nursery to investigate a noise, only to find that she was still sound asleep, we began to realize that there is something to be said for a video monitor. We purchased this Graco video/audio monitor 15 months ago and have literally used it every day and night since. It is comforting to be able to visually check in on her with out disturbing her sleep, confirm that she’s OK, and travel freely around the house. In regards to it’s durability, it has been dropped, kicked, chewed on, and every other imaginable thing that could happen to it and it is still going strong. We couldn’t be happier.

By Devine Love… I bought both this Graco color video monitor and the Summer Infant Day & Night Handheld Color video hand-held monitor 1.8″. I had to test each one alone (not both running at the same time, because they interfered with each other’s reception). The Summer worked better as described below: They booth worked pretty well, but the Graco was not really showing the color, even in broad daylight next to a sunny window with bright colors on my test subject (my husband), whereas the Summer had great color. Also I asked him to take some deep breaths: Graco didn’t show the movement in his chest, but the Summer monitor did. I walked across our house, out the garage, down the driveway, across the street, and into our neighbor’s driveway with each hand-held monitor. The Graco lost reception at the garage door of our house (about half a soccer field length away). The Summer still had reception at our neighbor’s drive way (about one soccer field away from the video monitor). We have wireless internet and 5.8 GHz phones and had no interception problems with either monitor. I would not have been unsatisfied with the Graco, but the Summer was much better.

All in all, this unit gets mixed reviews with some people loving it and others having problems with it. With a $200 price tag, this is not a cheap unit and you may find better value for money with another product. If you are a fan of Greco products, then this unit is worth considering.
